Take Action for Bray!
The proposed closure of the Herbert Road-N11 Junction forms part of the TII's Priority Bus Scheme, a broader plan to facilitate public transport along the N11 corridor. However, this junction is a vital artery for Bray - linking communities, supporting businesses, and ensuring access to schools, homes, and the seafront.
Despite its critical role, the TII has shown little willingness to explore viable alternatives, instead treating this closure as non-negotiable, even though the scheme does not depend on the removal of this junction. Crucially, this stance ignores not only the unanimous opposition from Bray's elected representatives, but also the voices of local residents who have repeatedly raised serious concerns throughout the consultation process.
Why This Matters
- •Traffic Chaos: Closing the Herbert Road-N11 Junction will lead to severe congestion on major routes, disrupting both personal commutes and business operations.
- •Harming Tourism: Limiting access will deter visitors, damaging Bray's appeal as a tourist destination during weekends and the summer.
- •Community Silenced: The local consultation process has blatantly ignored the voices of Bray residents.
- •Democracy Undermined: It is unacceptable that our elected local councillors and TDs have had their concerns overlooked.
- •Demand for Transparency: The decision should be supported by the full body of documentation - including the cost-benefit analysis, traffic impact assessments, environmental reports, and consultation records, made publicly available.
Join us in demanding that the Herbert Road junction remains open. Your voice matters - make sure it is heard!
